Poem from Udaan

Udaan a simple coming of age story of Rohan, a small town boy who wants to be a writer against his father's wishes who wants him to be an engineer. The movie is filled with so many cherish-able moments and filled with some of the best acting that one may be excused for not noting that most of the actors are making a debut with this film. Though it was not an immediate success it's one of the movies that will attain a cult status later for sure.

Here's one of my favourite poems from the movie :

Jo Lehron se aage nazar dekh paati
to tum jaan lete,
main kya sochta hoon.

Vo avaaj tumko  bhed jaati
to tum sochte, main kya sochta hoon.

Zid ka tumhara jo parda sarakti
khidkiyon se aage bhi tum dekh paate.

Aankhon se aadato ki palke hatate
to tum jaan lete, main kya sochta hoon.

Meri tarah hota agar khud par zara bharosa
to kuchh door tum bhi saath saath aate.

Rang meri aankhon ka baantte zara sa
to kuch door tum bhi aate saath saath aate.

Nasha aasma ka jo choomta tumhe bho,
hasrate tumhari naya janm paati;
khud doosre janm me meri udaan
chhoone kuchh door tum bhi saath saath aate.
